CALLING ALL YOGI AND YOGINIS *insert megaphone pic here* I hope this finds you all safe, well and unshakeable! For obvious reasons it is time to pull the pin on all group classes. Until further notice there will be no classes or workshops at the studio. Instead I will be doing a class everyday online through the private Facebook group The Yoga clubbers. They will be done live and then accessible at anytime on the page. Yay! A wee reminder on how this will work
With everyone being at home over the next few weeks, don't forget to share this info with your friends and family, The Yoga Clubbers will be a great way to get some exercise and help keep that stress response to the situation to a minimum. In such an uncertain time I wanted to make sure that you all get this information regarding The Yoga Club that I hope is super helpful for you.
I'm happily running classes as normal. However these sensible precautions will be put in place: •. We will not be using props and I encourage you to bring your own mat •. Cleanliness and disinfection of any shared surfaces will be a priority after every single class •. If you show ANY SIGN OF BEING UNWELL please STAY AT HOME I'm also bringing the Develop Your Home Practice workshop forward to 6.00pm-8.00pm, this Sunday night, 22nd March so that you can be completely prepared to do yoga at home if that becomes a necessity, or if you just prefer to do so. See below for more details and please contact me if you would like a spot. I've always encouraged people to have their own mats and props, this may be the perfect time to invest in your own yoga set up. I recommend the kiwi business www.ecoyogastore.com for props and mats. The mats we use in the studio are Manduka Eko and are awesome, plus come in some pretty cool colours! And if you sign up for their newsletter, you'll get a 10% discount to use on your first order! A little cheaper and just as good are the Lululemon mats which you can get in store in Christchurch or online. You'll never regret setting yourself up well, and the cost is minimal, as that is all you need, your mat, a block, maybe a bolster and a strap. You'll be good to Yoga for forever I've been putting a lot of thought into my online presence. I have recently started the private Facebook group which I am, and always was, planning on putting a lot of my time and energy into because I believe it is an amazing way to inject a whole lot more yoga into your lives in a very cost effective simple way. How It will now work...
I have purposely kept this ridiculously cheap because I want it to be affordable, I want you to use it, reap the benefit of regular yoga, pass on the details to your family and mates and get a great online yoga community HUMMING. I hear that some of us are becoming worried, anxious and or nervous about the effects of the coronavirus in the world, NZ and our direct communities. I hear you. We can't change the truths of what is but we can be aware of our reactions and not be pulled into unnecessary drama surrounding the situation. Stay informed but limit how much news you watch. Be prepared but try not to panic, this too will pass. We are not meant to be hugging (WHAT THE, no hugging?!) but we can still all support one another... so please hard out support the people around you and use this as another opportunity to keep your connections with the people around you strong. If you have any concerns or I can help you in any way with your yoga practice please don't hesitate to be in touch. In the meantime I will keep you posted if there are any updates or changes to the current situation. Keep safe and namaste!
