Welcome to the yoga club

 

The Yoga Club offers quality all level yoga classes in Waikuku, North Canterbury at The Old School Collective. We are dedicated to offering inspiring classes with an emphasis on structural alignment, strength, movement, flexibility and health. Although we take our yoga seriously the atmosphere is laid back and fun so that all the awesome benefits of yoga become easily accessible for everyBODY.

YOGA FOR A HEALTHY SPINE & STRONG CORE

This workshop will give you strategies and knowledge to maintain a happy and healthy back, it’s designed to counteract postural tendencies and habits which can contribute to the very common complaint of back pain.

In this 2 hour workshop you will learn:
• Some basic knowledge of the anatomy of the spine and pelvis
• Postures and simple movements to strengthen the deepest muscles of your core to support your spine
• Postures and movement to decompress the spine and create space in the trunk where needed
• How to use breath to release tension and possibly reduce pain
• Exercises that you can do at home to continue to correct and prevent back problems

BEGINNERS WORKSHOP

Designed for the complete beginner, this workshop is an introduction to Vinyasa style yoga in a friendly, laid back environment. The 2 hour workshop will touch on safe movement and alignment, breath work and relaxation techniques. If you’ve never done yoga before or you want to break it down to the nitty gritty basics, this workshop is for you.

YOGA FOR STRESS MANAGEMENT & WELLBEING

A 2 hour workshop designed to motivate and educate on how to best use yoga, breath and meditation to reduce stress, improve sleep and alleviate symptoms of anxiety. You will learn specific practical tools that you can take with you and put into practice immediately. Includes a 40 min Vinyasa flow appropriate for all levels, with a teacher who walks her talk!
